Live Free or Die

All settled into my new house, nice and beautiful with other friends living in 2 other houses jus beside and opposite us. That explains why I have been suffering from aches and a sprained wrist.. Cos we play inter house frisbee and basketball! Not to forget abit of softball. I think the amount of exercise I did for the past week has exceeded what I ever did for the past few years altogether! It's fun to live close together but I hope there won't be any conflicts arising soon. Oops. But guys in our house can abit weird... they love pink and experience PMS from time to time. We chose pink for our shower curtains to differentiate the gals n guys toilet and ALexan was complaining that he wants pink!

Ok here's my house

U guys can send me any food or items haha
Can still sms me at my Hp and I also have a US line. Not very right to put it up here. Thinking of gettin the max online digital voice thou we already have one in the house provided by the guys but it doesnt seem too nice since they paid for it and I cant hog on to the line. Maybe I shud ask for one to shipped over... Dunno if one router works for 2 modem?

This is the garage and that's my car! Ok not mine but our given car... Live free or die, Buy the car plate number!! Haha but pls send me sthg if u strike k....

That's a Nissan Sentra 1.8. I never thought I could handle such a big car cos I was driving a Getz back home. Now I know I can. But roads and parkings are much larger here so that makes things alot better, which also explains why my friends have been driving without licenses. The drivers here are generally more courteous and definitely more patient and willing to give way. you seldom hear car honks here.

Quick view of my house and my room! Did I mention I love my room? It's a combination of lime green and blue colour theme. Look at the curtains! Everything hand picked and self designed. I was the one who hammered and put the shelf together! Even had to do considerable amount of sewing on the curtains. Cos it was hanging too long and I had to crop the top, fix it back together, so that it can fit my window and hence block out the sunlight totally.

This was how my room looked while I was unpacking and things were in a differnt orientation.

Then.. Tadah!!

The gathers at the curtain (right pic) are recycled from the part I cropped. Did abit of sewing to fix 2 pieces together so that the curtain can be held in place.

Placed the shelf horizontally instead of vertically to fill up the empty spaces in my room. And lastly the mini table u see here, is actually my luggage, Covered it with my throw set and there you go! A mini table to put my snacks and stuff! I have matching bowl and cup too but they're now in the kitchen! And there the quilt cover, it's actually by coincidence, bought it back in S'pore and brought it over. Happened to fit the colour theme, well hey we did have good taste ya? hee

Nice right?? How I wish I could have such a "designer's room" back home haha. Look at the blue waste paper basket now and the red one while I was unpacking! It's actually the same one Bought it (with most of the other furniture) from Ikea in Boston, I drove for almost 2.5 hours there! So I have to use it but a red basket in a blue-lime green room is too much of a mismatch and therefore I went to buy some cheap spray paint and sprayed it blue!! haha Oh I sprayed the frame of my standing mirror (not in the pic) blue too jus to match the whole team. Ok I know u'll say i'm troublesome but I'm gonna stay for 18mths so i don't mind doing some sewing or spraying! And that is to prove that I can sew too! And pretty well!! So anyone needs any advice on room deco? haha

Ok this photo is jus to show that we transported our own mattress from one state to another (our home which is like a 10 min drive away). didnt take the pic with the mattress on top cos everyone else was already seated in the car before they could tie the mattress. I made 2 trips myself, excluding the other drivers. It's quite an experience driving on the highway with mattresses tied on top and the wind was blowing so hard that the top of the mattress kinda flipped up. The reason why we chose to deliver ourselves is cos it's cheap!! The transportation fee is ex and if we wanetd to buy in our own state (which is Maine) we had to pay taxes. The state we work in (Portsmouth) is tax free.

Alright this last pic shows a huge dustbin right in front of our garage. We went home one night to discover this horrible, terrible looking dustbin, manifested with mosquitoes. That's how I got my bites! We have to pay and subscribe to some waste management to get our waste dumped reguarly. It's not like in Singapore where they go down the chute. And anyways this dumb company sent us a rubbish bin for industrail use when we are living in a residential area. We called them back asked them to remove it and replace with the small residential ones. A few days have passed and it's still lying right at our doorstep!! We call them everyday and they will tell us they'll collect it that very day and even asked for us to be patient! And you what, the MacDonald's here have smaller rubbsih bin than this!

and that's not the end, we haven got our electricity and gas yet. We're basically living on the previous owner's electricity. Good for us. But they have already cut off the gas supply and gas is for the water heater and stove to work. So yup we have been bathing in ICY cold water for the past week. And I mean it when I say icy it's not like the cold water in Singapore! My hands turn white when I bathe in the ICY cold water here!! Again, we call and apply everyday but bcos we dun hv our social security number, we need to fax them 2 IDs for proof. Then it's either they did not receive our fax, or the fax is unclear. And when we call to check if they receive they would say they have alotta fax, they're busy and call back later. And if u do apply for it today, you can only know if it is successful tml after u call. That's how this thing kept dragging on for a week! Frustrated! On sales person would tell you one thing and the other tell you something else. Basically they don't know what they are supposed to know. so much for American Service! And yah my camera too! Even with the international warranty, I was told I have to go back to where I bought it else they cant send for repair! What rubbish! Better send it back to Singapore!

Alright starting work tml! And gg for a BBQ now!!

Silence is perfect for the night
All alone you hide
From the lights shone too bright

This very moment you own
Don't waste away a night so beautiful
