A Blogger's Plight
Prologue
My life got pretty boring after exams. Feeling abit lost... Everyday is either rehearsal, meeting friends, or simply rotting away at home, although it wasn't too long since my last paper. I need a job... A temporary one that can fit into my rehearsal schedule before I start on my permanent job, so that I can take a break for a graduation trip. We were pretty bored at rehearsals today and started reading the scripts in Hokkien and Teochew.... It was hilarious. U had to be there to know it. I laughed so hard my stomach cramped.

I've always thought that reading blogs about everyday-life is boring.... By everyday life, I mean something like listing down what they had done from 8am to 8pm or from Monday to Friday, supposing they had not blogged for the week. Who cares about how many times U had met your boy/girl friend, your friends, where you had visited, where and what you had for breakfast, lunch and dinner??? Unless of course, something interesting had happened along the way. These blogs are perhaps not meant for people to read, but just an online diary/journal of the blogger. But then again, blogs are meant to be read right? I did mention I didn't give a damn if no one reads my blog. Man I was being stupid, pretentious blah blah.... Comeon, that's the sole purpose of a blog lah! TO BE READ! And if response is good, as in many people read and comment on your blog, u are bound to be satisfied and erm maybe famous as well. Unless u dun publicise your blog url and no one else knows your blog. Then I have nothing to say. Bloggers usually give accounts of what happened to them, what they saw and etc. But they are usually experiences that do not happen everyday, something non-expected or happened out of the blue. Then there are other bloggers just have the gift to come up with some fictitious yet interesting stories or ideas everyday and yet remain so funny with each post.
I've always thought that bloggers are entitled to freedom of speech. After all isn't this the space for you to spout any rubbish and reveal any inner thoughts that one might have? Aren't we allowed to indulge in any issues that aroused us? But apparently this is not the case. I've seen and heard pretty much from the papers and by word of mouth that many bloggers have been warned, sued and asked to make public apologies as well as to remove their entries because they were found to be offensive in one way or another. Many people are jumping onto this bandwagon, that is, to start blogging. I have to admit I'm one of the latecomers. And while it is quickly turning into a widespread phenomenon, it's starting to attract more attention, some unwanted. U can bitch about someone u hate, just be careful of who he or she is. Cause u never know if that very person will somehow come across your blog. If that someone u criticised is just someone insignificant, then u are probably safe. But if that person happens to be a big shot or something, u are deemed to end up in deep shit. Ok maybe abit exaggerated. But trust me, u'll have to pay for it.
Well u'll never know. That professor u bitched about may somehow hit on ur blog through his/her colleague/friends, then u'll probably be graded a D or worse, an F for your paper. Or at the very least, expect some verbal trashing. And then there are these organizations that may track/randomly come across your blog via search engines, and may deem certain entry as offensive. It helps if u have a tracker, not simply a counter. And u'll probably realise that there are indeed referrers from search engines or through certain links. U never know who these people really are and what their motive is. It's always safe to joke about yourself and your friends, criticize someone from the street. But it's best not to get involved in certain you-know-what sensitive issues. Oh and if u think u are safe by just leaving out the name, I think u are probably not, if u had made such an obvious hint.
Man it's no longer safe to blog anymore. Perhaps it wasn't to start with. I'm beginning to worry about this post. Will anyone think I'm tryin to imply something or is it offensive somehow?
